In case anybody needs a laugh, yesterday the House Freedom Caucus - a far-right group of Republicans who don't really believe in freedom and whose membership includes several truly godawful people like Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene - announced that they're going to try and push GOP House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to oust Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House via a privileged resolution. Needless to say, it has no chance of succeeding even if McCarthy were to bring such a resolution up.
But it doesn't need to because that's not the point of trying it. No, this is nothing more than a blatant money grab by the HFC. If they haven't done so already, sooner or later individual members will start sending emails out to their supporters asking for campaign contributions so that they can "fight tyranny" or whatever nonsense they put in there.
And yet, there are of course morons who bought this and think that it has a chance or working, despite the Democrats holding 222 seats to the Republicans' 213. Not a huge margin, but more than enough keep Pelosi in power. But I'm sure there are those out there who are convinced that Dems will turn on Pelosi, oust her, and install McCarthy or some other Republican as Speaker. I'm sure there are those who go even further and fantasize about this all leading to Trump being reinstated as President of the United States.
The current GOP is like a parking lot full of clown cars.
